Arrival - Dancers should arrive 10 minutes prior to the time of their class. Dancers should use this time to put on their shoes and begin stretching. We ask that dancers use the restroom before or after class. We will start all classes at the scheduled time.

Waiting Room – We are happy to provide a waiting room for the parents. We ask that you keep any small children waiting with you entertained, to minimize disruption. Dancers are expected to be quiet when another class is in session. Please refrain from sitting in the windows. We also ask that you do not eat, drink, or stand on the furniture.

Dismissal – Please be prompt in picking up your child from class. Please alert the staff if the dancer is going home with someone other than a parent.

Dance Room – We ask that students and parents refrain from wearing street shoes into the dance room. Dance shoes, slippers, or socks are permitted. Students should be reminded to keep their hands off of the mirrors and equipment not specifically being used for their class. No food or gum is permitted in the dance room. Drinks, such as water or Gatorade, may be brought into class in a sealable container.

Attendance – Please let your instructor know if you will be missing an upcoming class due to a school related activity or illness. We will not refund for a missed class, however, students may attend a makeup class, when applicable. As we approach our Spring Recital, it is very important for your child to attend class, as we will be working hard on placement and completion of our dances. Dress Rehearsal will be mandatory to participate in the spring show.

Tuition – Tuition will be due the 1st class of each month, or by the 7th, whichever occurs first. Please see/or ask for a tuition sheet for pricing on classes, late fees, etc.

Classes – The instructors reserve the right to decide whether a dancer is ready to be moved into a higher-level class. Dancers must be of age on or before Oct. 31st to be accepted into the appropriate class. Parents will not be allowed in the dance room during their child’s class, except during specified Parent Nights. We find that dancers are less distracted and perform better without an audience during regular classes. An exception will be made during the first month for Pre-School classes.

Withdrawals – The parent/guardian must communicate to the instructor that he/she will no longer be continuing a class. Paid tuition will not be refunded.

Class Attire – A leotard (any color) and tights are required for all classes, with the exception of Hip-Hop. Tight fitting leggings, dance shorts, dance skirts above the knee, and tight fitting tanks are permitted. Street clothes are not permitted in Pre-school, Ballet, Jazz, or Acro classes. Hip-Hop students are permitted to wear sweatpants or other loose fitting clothing. Hair must be pulled back/out of the face for class. Jeans are NOT permitted for ANY class. Students without proper attire for class will be asked to sit and watch. Gum is not allowed during class.

Shoes – Dancers may use any color of dance shoe during classes. For the recital, the following colors will be standard: Ballet and Pointe shoes -pink. Tap, Jazz, & Hip-Hop shoes - black. Hip-hop students are allowed to wear gym sneakers or dance sneakers. For Lyrical/Modern classes, barefoot or dance paws are allowed. Acro dancers may be barefoot for class and the recital. All shoes should be labeled with the dancer’s name.

Costumes – Costume papers for the Spring Recital will be handed out in Oct./Nov.

Behavior –Cell phones should be put on silent before class, and texting is not allowed during breaks, as this is considered a class disruption. Students are expected to treat others with respect and be attentive to their instructor. We will be using a 3 Strike Rule. Any dancer that has to be disciplined more than 3 times will be asked to sit and watch for the remainder of class. For any behavioral or disruptive problems that persist, parents will be asked to meet with the instructor. Our class time is short, and we want to focus our attention and energy on the dancers who are here to learn. We will also recognize dancers for good behavior in the dance room.

Parking – Parents and dancers may park along Fourth St. There is also parking available in the alley behind our studio.

Inclement Weather – We will be following the Williamsport Area School District for closings due to weather. Please check the studio voicemail by 4:30pm for any cancellations that may occur after school hours. An announcement will also be placed on our website and on the local radio stations, 97.7 and 102.7.
